Daniel Mark Marziale, 72, of Weirton died Thursday March 25, 2010, at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born December 3, 1937, in Masontown, PA, Dan was the son of the late Aldo and Lillian Brighenti Marziale. He was also preceded in death by his brother Donald. Dan retired from Weirton Steel after 38 years of service, where he was a machinist in the Tin Mill. He also worked with his father at the Modern Home Appliance in Weirton. A history buff, Dan enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with his granddaughter. He loved genealogy, photography and collecting coins. In the 1970's, Dan coached termite baseball at Starvaggi Fields, and girl's basketball at Saint Paul's Grade School in Weirton. He served his country in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 25 Year Club Weirton Steel, and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 4361. Dan is survived by his two sons, Dan and Andrea Marziale of Paris, PA; and Don Marziale ; a daughter, Melissa Marziale and Al Tate; and a granddaughter Brianna Marziale all of Weirton; a sister, Rita Nagy of Burlington, TX. Visitation will be 1-3 & 6-8 PM Saturday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Funeral services will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday Fr. Larry Dorsch will preside.

  5. Melissa, I first met your father when I worked the Reference section at the Weirton Library and then I helped him when I worked in the records room at the Courthouse. He was always funny and very nice. He had many tidbits of Weirton history. I am so sorry for your loss.

He could always make you laugh and usually did. I hadn’t seen or talked with Danny for many years, but a few years ago at the restaurant where he hung out with my brother Jim I had a chance to talk to him.
