Darold ''Bill'' Cox
June 4, 1921 ~ June 29, 2003
Darold (Bill) Cox, 82, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1921 in Salem, WV, the son of the late James Dallas and Tincie McClain Cox. Four brothers, Nelson, Oris, Maynard and Forest Eugene Dick Cox and three sisters Gwendolyn Gilbert, Tina Musgrave and Margaret Cox also preceded him.
Bill retired with 40 years of service from National Steel where he was a foreman in the Steel Works Machine Shop. He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Weirton, WSX 25-Year Club, charter member of the Weirton Masonic Order #171, Shriners of Wheeling and VFW Post 2716. Bill served his country in the Army Engineers during World War II.
Bill is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Schell Cox of Weirton, daughter Linda Ann Pietranton and her husband Robert G. of Las Vegas, NV and two grandsons, Robert G. Pietranton of Los Angeles, CA and Ryan Pietranton of Las Vegas.
Friends will be received Tuesday, 7 – 9PM and Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton.
