David R. Marsh, 78, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born November 20, 1931 in Steubenville, OH, he was a son of the late Leonard and Ruth Lippman Marsh. A graduate of Kent State University, Mr. Marsh retired from the Hancock County Board of Education after teaching typing and business at Weir High School for 25 years. He also worked as a Fuller Brush salesman and was Baptist by faith. David is survived by his wife Marlene Kokochak Marsh of Weirton; sons Michael Marsh of Ashburn, VA and David Marsh, Jr. and his wife Donna of Alexandria, VA; daughters Catherine Gruda and her husband Thomas of Weirton and Amy Burchfield and her husband T.J. of Steubenville, OH; ten grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. Friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held 11AM Monday. The Pastor Doug Nevin will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Post Office Box 2499, Weirton, WV 26062. David's family would like to personally thank all of his caregivers at the Weirton Geriatric Center.

As I type this I recall being in his typing class at Weir High, all my siblings were trained by him as well.   7. My heart goes out to the members of David’s family. I never got to know him, but I have a picture of him that always makes me smile when I look at it. It was taken at Grandma Suzanna Kokochak’s birthday party. He is lying on a chaise lounge sound asleep while his children are playing around him. While you mourn his loss, I pray that you can be comforted by thoughts of when he made you smile. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
