Delina D. “Dillie” DiGirolamo of Weirton a kind, humble Christian who loved to serve the Lord passed away, at her home, on Tuesday February 15, 2022. She was 98. Delina was born in Weirton, WV, on May 17, 1923, the fifth of twelve children born to Tony and Rose Spear DeFebbo. Dillie married Carlo A. DiGirolamo and they were blessed with a son and four daughters. Carlo worked as a truck dispatcher at Weirton Steel and Dillie took care of their home. They enjoyed many years of helping others with God’s Food Ministry, and Dillie served on the Saint Paul’s Grade School PTA, when her children were young. Later in life she served as a greeter at the New Life Church. At the time of her passing, Dillie nourished her faith at the First Christian Church in Steubenville, where her grandson Nate is the pastor. In her free time Dillie enjoyed making hook rugs and completing crossword puzzles. Dillie will be remembered by all who knew her as a loyal dependable hard worker whose word was as good as gold. Most of all Dillie will be remembered for the love she had for her Lord and Savior and her family. In addition to her parents, Dillie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Bernadette DiGirolamo; her husband, Carlo A. DiGirolamo; her brothers and sisters, Charles, John, Louis, Albert, and James DeFebbo, Carmella Guilford, Virginia Dattilo, Mary Boggs, Helen Shuma and Rosemary Ellek. She will be remembered with love by her son, Anthony DiGirolamo (Merrily); her daughters, Diane Freeman (Nathaniel) Rose Ann Corbin (Craig), and Joyce Ann DiGirolamo; her sister, Frances Wenzel (Fred); her grandchildren, Nate Freeman (Kate), Dawn Freeman, Jessica and Tony DiGirolamo, Gina Crist (Jeff), Joe Corbin (Estefania), and Jacob Corbin (Cori); her great- grandchildren, Brittany Thomas (Josh), Myles and Trey Freeman, Jess and Jiovanni Turner, Noah and Eva DiGirolamo, Gianna and Elliana Corbin, Lucas and Noah Corbin, Ethan, Asher, Reid and Logan Crist; her two great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Michael Thomas. Friends and Relatives will be received 12 Noon until the time of her funeral service at 1 PM on Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Pastor Nate Freeman will preside. Facial masks will be mandatory. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com
