Diamando Diane Baktis

Diamando Diane D. Baktis, 86, of Weirton, WV, died October 28, 2001, at Brightwood Nursing home in Follansbee. WV. She was born May 12, 1915, in Colliers, WV. She is the daughter of the late George and Maria Demas Simakis. She was preceded in death by her husband Captain Costas Baktis, and her son Joseph Matazinski. A brother Pete Simakis and three sisters Tulla Villas, Jean Lombardo and Angie Simakis also preceded her. Diane was a homemaker and a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton. Diane is survived by three brothers George Simakis of Colliers, WV, Mike Simakis of Weirton, WV, Thomas Simakis of Glendale, Arizona, and one sister, Evelyn Callas of Steubenville, Ohio. She has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, 2001, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St. Weirton, WV. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio.
