Dolores Anna Roy

Dolores Anna Roy 87, of Weirton, WV passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at Trinity Medical Center West, after a brief illness. She was 87 years old. Born on June 6, 1934, in Clinton, PA., she was a daughter of the late Steven and Mary Ezarik Wolanski. Dolores was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she was everything to them. She enjoyed making her home full of love and a place where her family could feel secure, sitting on her front porch and occasionally making the trip to Mountaineer for a fun afternoon. Dolores found much enjoyment in solving crossword puzzles, completing word searches, and watching the Game Show Network with her grandson Jimmy, especially re-runs of the “Price is Right,” hosted by her favorite, Bob Barker. Her family describes her as the “Best Mother,” a wonderful cook, a little stubborn but her Golumpki was the absolute best you had ever eaten. She was proud of her Polish heritage and all that she had to offer and pass down throughout the years. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Clyde G. Roy Jr., brothers Joseph, Herman, Stephen, Thomas John, Robert Frank, and Phillip Wolanski, sister Patricia Cox, granddaughter Melissa Rowland and great-granddaughter Madison Crowe. Dolores is survived by with love and admiration by her sons James (Eva), Clyde G. III (Kelly) Roy all of Weirton, Mark E. (Brenda) of Paris, Pa., daughter, Sandra (Dave) Cummings of Wampum, PA., sisters, Mary E. Cox of Paris, Dorothy (Bill) Cox of Arizona, Irene (Joe) Waitrak of Clinton, PA., Susan ( Charles) Kiger of Florida, grandchildren James Roy Jr., Stephanie and Christopher Cummings, Josh and Ashley Roy, and Kristen McCoy, great-grandchildren Brandon Brittner, Christina and Zach Cummings and Logan McCoy. Dolores will be buried alongside her husband Clyde at Grandview Cemetery in Burgettstown, PA., Dolores’ request for cremation has been honored.
