dominic pulice, sr.
Dominic Pulice, Sr., 84, of Wintersville, OH, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2012, surrounded by his loving wife and family, at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Dominic was born to the late Frank and Pasquelina Rotell Pulice on June 5, 1927, in Weirton, WV. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert L. Pulice and John A. Pulice, Sr. and a grandson, Nathan Dominic Pulice. Dominic proudly served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946. He then married the love of his life, Leona Nevlis, on August 21, 1948. Dominic worked for the next for 43 1/2 years at National Steel as a feeder on the CA line. He loved gardening, wood-working, and playing the harmonica, but his biggest joy of all was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 10, and the WSX 25-Year Club. Dominic is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leona Nevlis Pulice; sons, Dominic Pulice, Jr. (Mary) and Stephen Pulice (Jeannie); daughters, Kathleen Bischof (David) and Mary Ann Velegol (George); brothers, Joseph Pulice (Ilsa) and William Pulice; a sister, Frances Dankovchik (Robert); 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, WV. Rev. Fr. Ronald A. Getsinger will preside. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV, with military services being conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Avenue, Weirton, WV 26062.

  6. Dear Leona and family, I’m so sorry to hear that Dom passed away. He will truly be missed at Meridian Greene. We all loved to hear him play his harmonica and the community room will seem very different without him. Please know you are in out thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
