Donald “Donnie” Neal Fabian, 53, of Steubenville, OH passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born June 11, 1953 in Steubenville, OH, Donnie spent the last 28 years of his life being the most amazing father that a daughter could dream of. Six months ago, after 33 years of service, he retired from Weirton Steel where he was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year-Club.
Surviving are his daughter, Kerri Lynn Fabian and her fiancé J. C. Wood and Kerri’s mother Terri Fabian; his parents Joseph and Pauline “Polly” Sharp Fabian; sister Cynthia Thompson and brother-in-law Jon Thompson; nephews Jon Michael and Jason, his brother Joe Fabian; his three beloved cats and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday November 18, 2006 at the Mercy Baptist Church, 3474 Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, where fellowship with the family will follow the service.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton, WV.

Terri, Carrie, and Family, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Words can never ease the pain and sorrow you will endure. I do know how proud your Dad was of you Carrie. DONNIE WAS A VERY PRIVATE PERSON. HE HAD HIS OWN WAY OF DEALING WITH LIFE.HE ALWAYS TREATED ME WITH RESPECT WHEN I WOULD GO AND VISIT HIM AND TERRI. HE ALWAYS ACTED SO CONCERN ABOUT MY LIFE. HE WILL TRULY BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM.OUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS HIM NOW AND HE CAN BE AT PEACE NOW, EVEN THOUGH HIM AND TERRI WERE DIVORCED HE WILL ALWAYS BE REFERRED TO AS UNCLE,BROTHER IN LAW BY THE MALONE FAMILY. Donnie and I started school together at Cove School. He was always happy, kind, and sincere since the day that I met him. We both wanted to work in WSX, which we did and even got to work together. Through all the years, he just wanted to be with family and friends; and he had more friends than he realized he had. He was very well thought of and looked up to. He will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man! The love he had for his daughter, Kerry, was apparent. He was always talking about her and what she was doing. Oh Kerri,what can I say.It breaks my heart so much to know your dad is gone,I still cant believe it.Donnie and I started in the mill togeather back in the early 70’s and worked togeather a lot over the years.Your dad and I always seemed to click, I guess because he was such a kind and likeable man.Now you take care sweetheart and be strong and know that he’s in a better place and in time he’ll hold you in his arms again, because I know Donnie loved the Lord and the Lord loves all of us. May his memory be eternal! Everything about Donnie made him a very lovable person. I always wished the best for him. We worked together in the laboratory at Weirton Steel.
We had quite a few good times both in the mill and out. It was a shock to hear of your passing. You will be missed terribly by all that knew you. Terri and Kerri, you just need to know that Donnie is now with Jesus our Lord and Saviour. He will never be forgotten and will always be with us in our thoughts and memories.
Very Simple- Don I knew years ago, we both lived on Weircrest. I want to say to your family how sorry I am for this loss. You were a piece of work- in a good sense- and from this point on you will be in my thoughts daily.
I still think about you every single day.
Hey Donnie, miss you man. You were a cool guy and I learned a lot from you. I will always have that coffin handle knife you gave me for X-Mas 1997. PS. I didn’t eat too much turkey…
