Donald G. Lamp, 75, of Weirton, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014, in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 15, 1939 in Weirton, he was a son of the late Archie and Marie Boley Lamp of St Mary's, WV. He was preceded in death by his half-brother Sanford Boley, and baby brother Archie Lamp, brothers in law Frank Bodo and Paul McGaughey and daughter in law Penny Wright. With over 30 years of service, Donald retired from Weirton Steel where he worked in the Tin Mill in the mechanical bull gang. He was Protestant by faith, an Army veteran, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #688 where he attained the rank of Pilgrims Degree on May 29, 2014, American Legion Post 10 and WSX 25-Year Club. He was also assistant Scout Master of Troop 32 at the Oakland Fire Department and was very involved with the Weir High School Band parents for several years. Mr. Lamp is survived by his wife, Wanetta L. Taylor Wright Lamp, of Weirton; children, Rev. Mike Kimball (Laura) of Sebring, OH, Denise Donovall (Douglas) Colliers, WV, Richard Lamp (Cindi), and Donald G Lamp II (Catina );15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter; 1 foster granddaughter Joy of Wisconsin; and two pets, Dyna and Max; sisters, Ruth Bodo of Steubenville, OH, and Kathleen McGaughey of Richmond , OH; twin brother, Ronald Lamp (Barbara) of Lake City, PA, and brother Harold Lamp of Steubenville, OH; stepsons, Robert Wright (Paulette) and Jack Wright(Steve Tate) all of Weirton. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where a Moose service will be 7:30 PM Monday evening. Funeral services will be celebrated 12 Noon Tuesday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Kimball and Major Dave Dewan officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Charities, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, IL, 60539-1118 or the Salvation Army, 794 Cove Road, Weirton, WV 26062
