Donald Hugh Mackey, 80, of Weirton died December 11, 2015 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville. He was born July 11, 1935 in Wheeling, WV., a son of the late Harry L. and Hilda J. (Ford) Mackey. He was preceded in death by his second wife Wilma Walker, daughter Debra Mackey, great-granddaughter Carly Hildreth and brothers Lester F. "Sonny" Mackey and Jerry L. Mackey. Don worked as an electrician for Weirton Steel for 37 years, he was a Korean War United States Army veteran, an avid pool shooter and number one Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He is survived by his wife Shirley R. (Lantz) Mackey whom he married on May 22, 1959, daughter Donna Newbold of Lisbon, OH,; two sons Donald (Robin) Mackey of Reidsville, NC and David (Susan) Mackey of Magnolia, TX ; grandchildren Jason Hildreth, Dustie (Josh) Lively, Suzie (John) Robinson, Jessie (Christen) Hildreth, Eric Mackey, Jenna (Paul) Starvaggi and Travis (Lisa) Mackey; nine great-grandchildren and half- sister Linda Moore. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8PM at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., where Funeral Services will he held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH., 43943.
