  4. Lucille……..I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s death. I never met her but your brother, Paul, was one of my first friends when I came to Edgewood in the fifth grade. I always remember how nice you both were. I know you cherish her memories and how wonderful to have had her for so long, although it is never long enough. God bless your family.

  5. Lucille and family,

As you know, I only really got to know Aunt Dorothy in recent years, when I took Dad out to Pittsburgh for the last time and we stopped by your house in Weirton for a lovely visit, but what a blessing to be able to get to know her and you better. It was so nice to be able to talk with someone who had been my Grandpa’s sister and to reconnect with the Pittsburgh Lescallettes, whom we Harrisburg people had once been so close to. It was also wonderful to exchange letters across the years since then. I may not be able to make it to the funeral, owing to the time and distance (as a pastor, I, of course, have services on Sunday but also had a parishioner die today (Thursday) which crowds my schedule) but if I can’t make it there, please know that you are in my prayers. May Easter’s peace enfold Aunt Dorothy and you all.

    Love,

    Bob Lescallette

  6. Mrs. Higgins, you weren’t just a neighbor and a friend. You were like a Grandmother to me. I will always look back and think fondly of the long summer talks on your porch, the rainy reminices in the living room, and most importantly the fresh cookies you always seemed to have. I had a friend in you, Les, and Paul. Appriciation for you and what you have done for me is the least I can do for you. Thank you for the great times and the fond memories. Prayers for you and your family, God Bless <3

  7. Lucille and family,

I am so sorry to hear about about aunt Dot. She was a blessing to all of us….and I don’t think I ever remember her without a smile on her face,; she always made us feel loved and brightened our day whenever she was around. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family…. She will be missed and fondly remembered

    Paul

  8. Grandma, you will never be forgotten. Thank you for being there, for so many years. You played a major role in my life, and I count myself blessed for it! It was such a joy to call you not only Grandma, but friend! I will always love you. Your little Rachel. ♪♫♪♫

  9. To the Higgins family: I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved your mom. She was a wonderful neighbor to my grandmother (Stella Bodnar) for so many years. Then to me when I moved in with my grandmother. When my gram’s house was sold, she always invited me to “come and visit & sit on the porch with her.” I did take my son down to meet her because I felt she was so very special. She will be deeply missed. However, I’m sure that God has a very special place in Heaven for her.

  10. My condolences to the Higgins family in your time of sorrow..

I wanted to share a beautiful promise from God found at John 5:28 – “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out. – May the GOD of comfort embrace you all.
