Edward B. Sobolak, 77, of Weirton died December 18, 2000 at his residence.
He was born May 13, 1923 in Weirton, the son of the late John and Kathryn Zagula Sobolak. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Agnes VanBaak Sobolak, three brothers, Julius, Stanley, and Adolf Sobolak, one sister Viola Znoy.
Edward retired as Director of Rehabilitation for the Sate of Michigan with 30 years of service. He was a Catholic by faith. He was a WWII veteran where he served in the US Army as a Medic.
He is survived by 3 sons; Paul and John both of Detroit, MI and Tim of Raleigh, NC, 1 daughter; Janet Sobolak of Chicago, IL, 1 brother, Bennie Sobolak of Weirton; 6 grandchildren
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Services will be Thursday 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Weirton, WV.

Carole and I wish to send you our sympathies. We remember Ed as Carole’s Mon & Dad’s best man at their wedding and how he joined us in celebrating their 50 th wedding annaversary four years ago. I take communion to the hospital for Sacred Heart of Mary and visited Ed a number of times while he was in the hosipal. We mourn your loss. You are in our prayers. Jeff, Carole, and family.
