Edward “Eddie Kasper” Kasprzak, 85, of Weirton, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1920 in Natrona, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Constance (Nopiwocki) Kasprzak. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Andrew, Henry, and Ted Kasprzak; and one sister, Jean Lewis. Eddie was the former owner and operator of the Capital Club in Weirton for 30 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church; an usher at Sacred Heart for many years; a member of the Knights of Columbus #3734; and a member of Weirton B.P.O.E. #1801. Eddie also served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. In the 1940’s and 1950’s Eddie was a member of the Cavalier’s Dance Band. He played for many weddings in the Weirton area. Eddie is survived by his wife, Christine (Wrkich) Kasprzak; two sisters-in-law, Ann Kasprzak of Weirton and Josephine Kasprzak of New Jersey; and 10 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited 2 PM Monday and a Vigil Service will be held 8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Weirton. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton, where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and VFW Honor Guard.
