Ellen Kathryn Bubrik

Ellen Kathryn Bubrik, 84, of Weirton, formerly from New York, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Weirton Medical Center. She was born February 29, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late James J. and Elizabeth B. O’Neil Whalen. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Bubrik and two sons. A graduate of Boston University with a degree in education, Ellen taught grades K-12. She had been a resident of the Weirton Geriatric Center for 15 years and attended all the Catholic masses at the geriatric center. She was a very active resident who loved to play bingo and participate in the reading circle with her fellow residents. The Weirton Geriatric Center will conduct a Memorial Service at a later date.
