Emilia “Minnie” Sardelli DiFelice, 87, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born June 15, 1919 in Greensburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Lucrezia Sardelli. Emilia was also preceded in death by her husbands John Ornauski and Carmine DiFelice; daughter Virginia (DiFelice) Bortz; brothers Mario and Albert Sardelli; granddaughter Christina Barron and stepmother Rosalba Sardelli. For over 20 years, Minnie worked as the head cook for the Weirton Osteopathic Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton, Weirton Moose Lodge 688 and the PNA Lodge in Steubenville. She enjoyed traveling and in 1969 took her daughter, Olivia, to Italy to return Minnie’s stepmother, Rosalba, to live with her family. Mom and Olivia toured the beautiful countryside and had a great time together. Emilia’s survivors include her daughters Joan Barron (Garrett) of St. Augustine, FL and Olivia Oklok (Mike) of Weirton; sister Yolanda Greco of Newport Richey, FL; grandchildren Sean Barron (Jill) of Texas, Jennifer Oklok of Weirton, Brian Oklok (Melinda) of Florida and great-grandchildren Jack, Kate and Claire Barron all of Texas. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Monday with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer presiding. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. The family would like to thank Weirton Geriatric Center and Valley Hospice for the great care that was given to their Mother.
