Emma Jean Jones

Emma Jean Jones, 81, of Weirton died Saturday October 22, 2011, at her home with her caring family at her side. Born on September 20, 1930 in Jackson County, WV, Emma Jean was a daughter of the late Earl and Goldie Burdette Pickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Lee Smith in 1976, and her second husband, Earl Chapman Jones in 1985; a brother, Cleo Pickens in 1975; four sisters, Mary Sutherland in 1990; Wanda Golden in 1989, Clora Louise Smith in 2000 and Christina Pickens in 1925. Emma Jean enjoyed crocheting, knitting, as she was very talented in making crafts. She loved to travel and go camping. Family vacations to Myrtle Beach and time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, will always be cherished memories. She is survived by her two sons, Eddie L. (Beverly) Smith of Steubenville, OH and Joseph G. Smith of Weirton, WV; her daughter, Sherry D. Smith of Weirton, WV; five grandchildren, Shawn (Bev) and Matthew Smith, Jessica (SGT. William) Hawkins, Joseph (Jen) Smith and Amber Smith, and six great grandchildren, Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton where funeral services will be held at 8 PM Monday Evening. Rev. Larry Barkley will preside. Burial and committal services will be 1 PM on Tuesday at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Roane County, WV. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com
