Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Emma L. Chappell, 75, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the Trinity Medical Center West. Born December 6, 1936 in Primrose, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Russell Mutton. She was also preceded in death by her brother James Mutton and sisters Marion Thomas, Agnes Broccoli and Sue Shute. For 20 years, Mrs. Chappell worked as a sales clerk at the former Fisher's Big Wheel. She was an avid shopper and loved camping with her family but, most of all, her pride and joy were her six grandchildren. Emma is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arthur Chappell, Sr. of Weirton; sons Arthur Chappell, Jr. and his wife Denise of New Cumberland, WV, Mark Chappell of Weirton, Jim Chappell of New Cumberland and Paul Chappell and his wife Pam of Burgettstown, PA; daughter Linda Taylor and her husband Philip of Weirton; grandchildren Chad, Ali, Zac, Artie and Taylor Chappell and Kyle Taylor and her brother Merle Mutton and his wife Stella of Rome, NY. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Monday. The Reverend Marvin Taylor will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Weirton Salvation Army, P. O. Box 2499, Weirton, WV 26062.
