Eva Ralston, 85, of Weirton, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born October 25, 1919 Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Sarah Kosanovich Ralich. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Leroy Ralston in 1970, brothers Lee and Milan Ralich and sisters Mildred Solomon, Josephine Ralich, Dorothy Senker, Nellie McMillan and Sally Ralich. During World War II, Eva welded ships in Boston, retired from the Weirton General Hospital where she worked in the Laundry Department and later worked part time for Walker's Furniture. She was a member of Cove Presbyterian Church and during her illness while staying with family, attended Weirton Heights Free Methodist Church. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Lodge. She served as a volunteer with RSVP at Brightwood Nursing Home and the Weirton Geriatric Center. Eva’s survivors include her sons Tom Ralston (Paula) of Pflugerville, TX and Robert Ralston of Columbus, OH; daughters Carolyn Delanta (Rusty) and Betty Jean Ralston both of Weirton; sisters Mary Sedwick of Wintersville, OH and Ann Rinkle of Luverne, MN; and 5 grandchildren: Ebonee and Thomas, Jr. of Texas, Jennifer Belt (John) of Steubenville, Shelley Burnett (Todd) of Wintersville, and Melissa Ralston of Weirton. Her three great grandchildren are: Ian and Morgan Belt and Brock Burnett. Friends will be received Wednesday from 1-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday. George Gerbo, Associate Pastor of the Family of God Fellowship will preside. Interment will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, PA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be sent to Cove Presbyterian Church or Weirton Heights Free Methodist Church, both of Weirton. Share tributes with her family at www.grecohertnick.com. Bobby, remember the story you told us about your mom washing the dixie cups and putting them back in the dispenser? Waste not, want not! Yes, Eva was a real gem and she will be missed.
