Eva Virginia Smearman

Eva Virginia Smearman, 84, of Burgettstown, PA, died Thursday, December 18, 2003, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born March 16, 1919, in West Union, WV, daughter of the late William Riley and Georgia Ulna Davis Doak. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Olin L. Smearman January 5, 2003 and four sisters, Gladys Swisher, Mildred Smith, Hazel Dilley and Mary Alvey. After more than 30 years of service, Eva retired from National Steel where she worked as a waitress in the private dining room. Eva was a homemaker and her true love was her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weirton, Weirton Chapter 147 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and the WSX 25-Year Club. She is survived by her daughter Sierra Sue Kennedy and her husband Edward Lee of Burgettstown; 2 grandchildren Edward Olin Kennedy, and his wife Linda, Deborah Ann Bowen; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew Lee Georgetti, Jessica Lee and Jacob Edward Kennedy. Friends will be received Saturday 7:00 – 9:00PM and Sunday 1:00 – 3:00PM and 7:00 – 9:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday. Rev. Timothy Allen will preside. Weirton Chapter 147 O.E.S. services will be held at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
