Everett Tom Colbert, 72 of Weirton died Wednesday April 18, 2001 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born on August 1, 1928 in Turtle Creek, PA, the son of the late Everett and Isabelle Wardle Colbert. Tom was also preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Hotsur Colbert in 1966 and his second wife Margaret Buratynski Colbert in 1984. His brother George also preceded him in death. Tom retired from SYSCO in 1992 as a marketing representative. He served on the USS General W.A. Mann in the United States Navy and was involved with the reunion association. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the VFW 2716 and the K of C 3734. After his retirement Tom enjoyed his time with the BPOE Lodge 1801, where he was the treasurer and Past Exalted Ruler and also received the Officer of the Year award. His wife Catherine Fazio Colbert of Weirton and his children, Mark T. Colbert, Kevin M. Sample, Kim Martin, Janet Smith all of Columbus, OH; Mark A. Sample of Chittnango, NY; Sandy J. Morelli of Wintersville, OH; Karen S. Rappaport of Columbia, MD and Linda Belli of Follansbee, survives. His brother, Gerald S. Colbert of Irwin, PA and his sister, Frances Szalanczy of Adrian, PA, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, also survive. A visitation will be held Friday from 2 until 9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Elks memorial service will be at 7 PM Friday in the funeral home. Prayer vigil will be held at 8:30PM, Friday in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated, 10:00AM, Saturday at Saint Joseph the Worker Church Weirton Entombment will be in Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
