Florence Eliza Brinsko
October 15, 1918 ~ September 30, 2014
Florence E. "Flo" Brinsko, 95, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born October 15, 1918, in Brookside, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Freda Gillham Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joe Brinsko.
For many years, Flo worked as Ledo's in Weirton, and was known as "Flo from Ledo's". She enjoyed ceramics and listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates on the radio.
Florence is survived by two sons, L. M. "Buz" Shushok, Sr. and his wife Sharon of Weirton, and John N. "Jack" Shushok and his wife Barbara of Solon, OH; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Interment will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport, OH.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Mrs. Brinsko was a wonderful penpal with our son Mitch. He’s ten now so for a decade she has been his most devoted long distance friend. Steve remembers fondly chatting with Mrs. Brinsko on her porch as he grew up on Booker St. Mrs. Brinsko had been part of the neighborhood for so long it is hard to imagine her not being there. We pray that you too find comfort in happy memories and know that she touched many hearts. May she rest in peace.
