frank fazio
Frank Michael Fazio of Weirton, WV., passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Liza’s Place in Wheeling on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was 91 years old. Frank was born on Wednesday, October 2, 1929, in Holliday’s Cove, WV, to Carmen and Mary Marsona Fazio. A 1947 graduate of Weir High School, Frank worked as a Cost Accountant for the former Weirton Steel Corporation retiring with over thirty-five years of service. Frank dedicated many years of his life to the Weirton Elks Lodge, serving as their Secretary for eight years and holding Treasurer's position for twenty-five plus years. He was fully engaged as a frequent and loyal member continuing his board duties until he was eighty-nine years old. He was not much of a sports fan, says his daughter, but he would watch the Green Bay Packers with his wife Wanda from time to time. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda M. Fazio, on October 14, 2008, and his son Michael Fazio. Left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter Josephine (Dennis) Hughes of Bellaire, OH., sister Catherine Colbert of New York, grandchildren Kristopher (Akiko) French of Japan, Kelly (Greg) Novak of Dillonvale, OH., Megan (Josh) Weber of Columbus, OH., Taylor Hughes of Neffs, OH., eight great-grandchildren, nephews, Mark (Theresa) Sample, Kevin Sample and special friend, Don Kennedy. Visitation will be Monday, March 15, 2021, from 4-7 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, where the Weirton Elks Lodge #1801 will hold a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday with Pastor James Rhodes as officiant. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
