frank standardi
Frank “Fuggy” Standardi, 100, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, Ca. Born December 16, 1905 in Monessen, PA, he was the son of the late Dominic and Elizabeth Bindi Standardi. Frank was also preceded in death by his son, Bernard J. Standardi; brothers, Patsy, Joseph, and Andrew Standardi; and sisters, Ida Ceroy, Rose Standardi, and Gina Wasiloff. After 39 years of service, Frank retired from Starvaggi Industries in the capacity of transportation in the P & W Bus Company as Dispatcher and President. He was a member of the Lady of Assumption Church in Ventura, and a former member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Weirton, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and Weirton Elks. Frank served on the Traffic Commission under the late Mayors Tom Millsop and Sam Kusic. He was a member of the Retired Business Men’s Club and the Golden Senior Golf Club in Ventura, CA. Frank’s survivors include his wife of 79 years, (Brandolin) Jenne Nepote Standardi and son, Frank W. Standardi of Ventura, CA.; grandson, James Standardi of Redondo Beach, CA.; granddaughter, Nicole Merrill and her husband, James of Westchester, CA.; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Schmitt Standardi of Palos Verdes, CA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00AM on Thursday, November 30, 2006 with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum, Weirton, WV. Memorial contributions in memory of Frank can be made to the Saint Joseph’s School, c/o Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 229 California Ave., Weirton, WV 26062.
