Freddie Earl Tingler, 80, of Avella, PA, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Brightwood Center Nursing Home in Follansbee, WV. Born March 12, 1935 in Weirton, WV, Freddie was the son of the late Paul E. and Ann Vincent Tingler. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Tingler and a sister, Delores Guyer. After several years of service, Freddie retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a Roller in the Strip. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Free Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge 688. Freddie had an immense passion for golfing and would spend any free time he had doing so at either the Mountaineer Woodview or the Ponderosa Golf Courses. Freddie is survived by his fianc, Joyce Davis; daughters, Terri Burnfield (Charlie) of Scenery Hill, PA, Connie McLaughlin (Robert) of Weirton, WV, and Darla Fredericks (Tim) of Tiltonsville, OH; step-daughters, Valerie Parich of Weirton and Terri Oguz (Robert) of Virginia; Step-son, John Bay of New Zealand; sisters, Vernice Bain (Harry) of Follansbee, WV and Martha Boustead of Paris, PA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM with the Reverend Milo Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.

  3. I am sorry to hear that Freddy has passed away. I remember all the good times, he was an amazingly funny man. He made the family reunions fun to be at, my mom and dad thought the world of him. He loved his family so much and will be sadly missed. I want to send my deepest condolences to Terri,Connie and Darla. Much love from your Texas family!
