G. Mae Mott, 84, of Highland Hills Drive, Follansbee, WV died Friday June 28, 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1918 in Chartiers, Twp., PA, the daughter of the late John and Lenore (Magdalene) McDonough. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley R. Mott, Sr. on February 27, 1999, and her son, Stanley R. Mott, Jr. on November 4, 2001. Mae was the secretary/ treasurer of the Mott Contracting Company, a company that her and her late husband founded in 1947. They built homes in the upper Ohio Valley and they were the developer of Highland Hills in Follansbee and the owner and operator of the Highland Hills Par 3 Golf Course in Follansbee, WV. She graduated from Weir High School, where she was crowned the school’s first May Queen. Mae was a member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV. She is survived by her son, Jon A. Mott and his wife, Patricia of Upper Saint Clair, PA; her daughter in law, Pat Mott of Follansbee, WV. her four sisters, Gladys Dickey of Wilmington, NC, Laverne Taylor of Fort Myers, FL, Lenore Rodgers of Orlando, FL, and Alice Miser of Weirton, WV; her eight grandchildren, and her twelve great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. A wake service will be held at 3:30 PM Monday in the funeral home. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated at 10AM Tuesday at the Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV. Rev. Fr. Anthony Cincinnati will preside. Entombment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 40 -12th Street Room 206, Wheeling, WV 26003 or to the Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
