George P. Bohach, 85, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his home. Born June 22, 1925 in Weirton, he was a son of the late George and Helen Mackson Bohach. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Rose Marie Sellaro Bohach, granddaughter Taylor Bohach, son in law Randy Shughart and brother Frank Bohach. Mr. Bohach earned his undergraduate degree at WVU and his Juris Doctorate from the WVU School of Law. During his 50 year law practice in Weirton, he held the position of Hancock County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for 10 years. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, VFW 2716, Knights of Columbus 3734, St. Paul Holy Name and the West Virginia Bar Association. George served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Infantry Division. He fought in the European Theatre in World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge and is a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. George is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna K. Lowery Bohach of Weirton; sons George R. Bohach and his wife Terri of Charleston, WV and Stephen S. Bohach and his wife Jennifer of Bellaire, OH; daughters Linda E. Coulter and her husband Roger of Radford, VA and Stephanie A. Shughart and her life partner Ed Rogers of Hertford, NC; brother Donald E. Bohach of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren Erin and Lauren Coulter, Christopher, Caroline, Nathan and Zina Bohach; great grandson Gabriel Caldwell and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7-9PM and Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 6PM Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00AM Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Memorial Fund, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV 26062 or Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
