George Wesley McAbee, 78, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born May 22, 1941 in Weirton, a son of the late George W. and Vivian E. Wetzel McAbee. Until his retirement, George served as a millwright for Weirton Steel Corporation and also owned and operated his own truck, specializing in pavement materials. He was a member of the Victory Life Church in Burgettstown and was a machinist by trade who enjoyed building motors and watching cowboy movies with his family. He is survived by his wife Mary Louise (Cole) McAbee; daughter Wendy (Dave) Kennedy of Weirton; brothers Howard (Barbara) McAbee of Indiana and Dennis (Michelle) McAbee of Weirton; sister Judy Rinikie also of Weirton; granddaughter Darcey (Mike) Stanley and great grandchildren Kayley and Miley Stanley. Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where additional visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, followed by funeral services at 11AM at Victory Life Church, 590 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA.
