George Molchan, 67, of Weirton, died April 13, 2002 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1935 in Weirton, the son of the late John and Marta Telmanik Molchan. His wife Antonetta Ciccolella Molchan, a brother John Molchan, two sisters Julia Molchan and Anna Decker, two brothers in law, Carl Decker and Henry Makowski also preceded him. George retired with 38 years of service from the Weirton Steel Company, Strip Steel Department where he worked on the pickling lines. He was a US Army veteran, a member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. George is survived by three sisters: Marie Makowski of Hawaii, and Irene and Pauline Molchan of Weirton. He has four nephews, one niece and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Panachida service will be held at 8:30 PM. He will lie in state on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church on Colliers Way in Weirton. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV. Military graveside services will be held by the American Legion Post 10, VFW Firing Squad #2716, and Tri State Marine Corps. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Chapter of the Autism Society of America, PO Box 245, New Cumberland, WV, 26047 or the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 604 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV, 26062.
