George T. Anderson, 76, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at his home. Born April 6, 1931 in Littleton, WV, he was the son of the late George K. and Genevieve Howell Anderson. Preceding him in death were his loving wife Bertha “Bea” Anderson, daughter Ruth Ann Hayhurst and brother Johnny Anderson. With 42 years of service, George retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an electrolytic plater in the Tin Mill. He was a member of the Northside Church of God, Weirton Steel 25-Year Club and the New Cumberland VFW #3526. He served the US Army in Korea. George is survived by his sons Thomas L. Murray and his wife Debbie of Cameron, WV and Roy M. Wells of Middlebourne, WV; daughters Jeanne Murray, Lynda Murray, Sharon Boyd and her husband James, Rebecka Gregson and BeaAnn Wells Workman and her companion Dan Shuma all of Weirton; brothers Clifford Anderson of Moundsville, WV, James, Jerry and Thomas Anderson all of Weirton; sisters Polly Hoover of Columbus, OH, Rosalie Harmon, Patsy Lancaster, Rhonda Swiger and Diana Rice all of Weirton; 25 grandchildren including Zachary Gregson, Carly Gregson, Amber Wells and Georgeanna Davis; 35 great grandchildren including Jocelyn Clark and Hannah Davis; several great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Friday with Pastor Curtis Moser presiding. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and Weirton Honor Guard.
