Dennis, My sincere sympathies to you and your family. Jimmy “Moose” Musulin Former Weir High Band Member with you.
I’ll always remember George & Vivian as part of my life; we spent a lot of time at their home when I was a child. My parents, Dude & Esther Hurst, were good friends to the McAbees. George was always along when we got together to sing & play guitar, quietly sitting in the back to enjoy the music while Viv sang. Now he sits beside her in glory! Peace & prayers to you all.
Judy, George, Howard and Dennis, I hope you all know how special George was to me. Both as a neighbor and a friend. He was one of the reasons I hated to leave “our hill”. I’ll always remember his good nature, helpfulness, and teasing jokes. He was truly one in a million, and will remain in my heart forever. I’m thinking of you all and holding you close in those thoughts. Jackie
There are so many memories, the one I hold close is when Dad was in the hospital in Wheeling and Uncle George was there to comfort me. I will miss him but I know he had a good life. I will always remember him teasing me and that cute laugh he had when he know he finally got to me. He truly was the last of a great generation. May the rest of us honor him and all the others and keep the McAbee name an honorable name. Love Jeannie
I am sorry to hear about Uncle George, and want to send my condolences to Judy, Howard, Dennis, Georgie and their families. I have a lot of good memories when you guys lived by the creek in Haller Park, the peanut butter sandwiches and the Kool-Aid Aunt Vivian made for us, driving that old truck to pick up stones to throw in the creek to keep the water from washing the bank away, driving that old truck was a joy, talk about cheap labor, but we loved it, cause we got to drive the truck. I remember Uncle George rabbit hunting and how good he was with his hands, building homes and there seems their was nothing he couldnt do, I am really sorry he is gone and Aunt Vivian also, they were good people. God Bless you guys.
Sorry to read about the death of your father Howard. My condolescences to you and the family. Dom and Pia Pucci
