Georgette Fekaris

Georgette Fekaris, 84, of Weirton died on Sunday February 5, 2017, at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
Born on April 10, 1932, Georgette was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Kolakis Frangakis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Fekaris on March 16, 2011, and her daughter, Virginia Fekaris, on May 7, 2014.
A published poet, Georgette retired from Hancock County Schools after 25 years of teaching English and Spanish at Weir High School.
She was very active in her church, the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years. She was also very active in the Philoptochos Society and past president and founding member of the Daughters of Penelope. Outside of her church, Georgette was active in the Weirton Women's Club and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Georgette is survived by her son, George Louis Fekaris (Nicole) of Weirton, WV; her brother, F.John Frangakis (Joyce) of Naples, FL, and Marie Kamarados (Alex) of Steubenville, OH; 7 grandchildren, Sophia, Faith, and Elias Fekaris, Georgia and John Pavlic, Kathryn and Adam Bonomo; 5 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Savannah, and Owen Pavlic, Quarizimah Ratliffe and Harlow Griffith; two great great twin grandchildren, Isaiah and Iyiana Pavlic; and her Goddaughter, Annette Karageanes .
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Trisagion services will be held at 6:30 PM.
Additional visitation will be 10 AM Wednesday until time of funeral services at 11 AM at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton.
Rev. Fr. Frank A. Milanese will preside.
Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
