Geraldine Ann "Gerry" Billcheck Carr

Geraldine Ann “Gerry” (Billcheck) Carr, 73, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. She was born August 1, 1944 in Steubenville, a daughter of the late Stephen and Daisy (Bosnick) Billcheck. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Carr, brother Donald “George” Billcheck and nieces Patricia Jo Landis and Carol Dapudja.
Gerry graduated from Weir High School in 1961. She furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science degree from WVU and received her Master’s Degree in nutrition and dietetics from Harper University Hospital. For several years, she worked at the former Weirton General Hospital. Gerry retired from the Jefferson County (Ohio) Health Department where she served as the director for the WIC program. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Weirton.
Geraldine is survived by her brothers Steve (Mary Anne) Billcheck of Richmond, VA and Robert (Donna) Billcheck of Providence Forge, VA; sister-in-law Judi Billcheck of Weirton; 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where Parastas Service will be held at 5pm.
Final blessing will be 9:30am Wednesday at the funeral home followed by the 10am Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Vasyl Symyon officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of her family.

Steve and Robert, I am so sorry to hear of Gerri’s passing. I have fond memories of the cookouts she and Bill had each summer. I remember the day they moved into their house in Wintersville.
