Geraldine B. Tennant

Geraldine B. Tennant, of Weirton, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Weirton Geriatric Center. She was 90 years old. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 12, 1930, Geraldine was a daughter of the late Paul and Carrie Hibbs Henline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oval A. “Curly” Tennant, whom she married on April 19, 1947, and died August 19, 2016. Together they had one daughter Kimberly Sue Tennant Marsh, who died December 1, 2009, from complications of Swine Flu. One brother Ronald Henline and one sister Lorestine Bickerstaff. Geraldine grew up in Mannington, WV and, later moved to Weirton after her marriage to Curly, where he accepted employment as a truck driver with Cove Valley Lumber. In her early years, Geraldine worked for ten years at the former Thrift Drug Store in Steubenville. Later she worked in the laundry of Weirton Geriatric Center. She was very active in Kings Creek Union Chapel, where she sang in the choir with her husband Curly. Geraldine enjoyed reading and crocheting and mainly her time spent with her church family. She is survived by three grandchildren, Carrie, Keanna and, Morgan Tennant; Nephews, Joe and Robert Bickerstaff; and cousin Cara (Mark) Starsick of Mannington, WV. Cremation arrangements for Geraldine are with the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton.
