gertrude seifert
Gertrude L. Seifert, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 78, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Saturday, September 02, 2006. She was born February 18, 1928 in Wilkinsburg, PA., the daughter of the late William M. and Helen P. (Delancy) Butler. Her husband, Raymond G. Seifert, Sr. died on December 23, 1997. Her brother, William Butler, also preceded Gertrude in death. With a love to take care of people and entertain her guests, Gertrude was known as the “Hostess with the Mostess.” Gertrude had a special place in her heart for all children, especially her own grandchildren. She was Presbyterian by faith and an active member of the PTA and Band Parents when her son Ray was in school. When she was not spending time with the kids, Gertrude enjoyed her hobbies of music, singing, and gardening. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and homemaker by her son and his family. Gertrude is survived by her son, Raymond G. Seifert, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Weirton, WV; brothers, James Butler of Greensburg, PA, and Michael Butler of McKees Rocks, PA.; sisters, Betty Donehoo and Gloria Lawley, both of Cheswick, PA.; five grandchildren, Wendy Cutright, Raymond T. Seifert, Michael Bartley, Jr., Marckus Bartley, and Angel Seifert, all of Weirton, WV.; and three great grandchildren, Sean Bartley, Dakota and Silas Cutright, all of Weirton, WV. Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2006, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at the Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.   5. Ray, sorry to hear about your mother. As a coincidence my father was born and raised in Wilkinsburg, PA. Never knew that about your mother. I know how proud she was of you and what you achieved with your many talents. My kids still laugh when I say that I was in the choir for five years. You had much patience.

I KNOW YOU WILL MISS HER BUT SHE WOULD WANT YOU TO SING AND NOT MOURN.
