gilbert bunkley
Gilbert Scott Bunkley, of Colliers, WV, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was 72. On February 2, 1948, Gilbert was born in Steubenville, OH, to Gilbert Scott and Margaret “ Marge” Grimes Bunkley, Sr. After over forty years of service as a welder, Gilbert retired from Local 154. He was a self-made man, always thinking outside the box. He taught himself how to build cars, motorcycles, and give custom paint details to them. One of Gilbert’s proudest moments is when his cars and motorcycles he built and painted were featured in a national car and motorcycle enthusiast’s magazine. As a welder, he had the opportunity to travel the globe, at one time purchasing a Rolls Royce and having it sent back home. His most outstanding achievement was raising his daughter Morgan Lynn and teaching her how to succeed in life. In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his brother, William “Rich” Bunkley, and his step-father, William “Charlie” Heisler. He will be remembered with love by his wife Diana Hans Bunkley; daughter Morgan Lynn Bunkley. He is also survived by his half-brother, Keith Heisler, and step-brother Bill Heisler, Jr.; sister, Bonnie Bunkley; half-sister Kim Schaffer; and step-sisters Julie Cooper and Nancy Middlekauf. Per Gilbert’s request, cremation arrangements are in the care of Greco-Hernick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com 304 748-3219
