Giovannina A. (Jennie) Cantini, 95, of Weirton, WV died, Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born on March 24, 1914, in Foggia, Italy, a daughter of the late Nick and Assunta Barbara Pavia. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emaretto A. Cantini, brother Ralph Pavia and sister Constantina Sestito. A homemaker, Mrs. Cantini was a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, and the Legion of Mary. She is survived by her daughter Roselyn Cantini of Weirton, WV; brother James Sestito of Clearwater, FL; sisters Christine Lamantia of Toronto, OH and Martha Parsons of Calcutta, OH and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2 to 6PM Friday at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will preside. Interment will follow in the Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, or the Valley Hospice. Jennie's daughter would like to thank Lou Serra and his wonderful loving and caring staff at the Weirton Geriatric Center for all of the care and love provided to Jennie.

  5. Dear Roselyn, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Your Mom was loved by so many. We connected with her right off when we first met. She was so sweet. And you are the best daughter anyone could ever ask for. You did so much for her. I know how hard this is for you. I would love to have seen you, too.I had just asked one of the girls about your Mom last week. I apologize also for not visiting her at WGC. I haven`t been there since I fell and had to retire.
