Gladys Corso, 75, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother of Weirton, passed away, unexpectantly, at her home, on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Born on September 30, 1936, Gladys was a daughter of the late Arthur and Byrle McCombs Roadway. She lived in Weirton, and was a member of the Weir High Class of 1954. After graduation, she was employed at Continental Can in Weirton. On October 22, 1955, Gladys married Frank Sam Corso and together they started a family. They were married for 54 years until his passing away on July 29, 2010. She formerly taught Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church in Weirton for 14 years. She was member of the Three Score Seniors Club, and also enjoyed meeting her high school classmates for lunch every month. Most of her time though was centered around her grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished. She was often found cheering them on, at all of their sporting events. Gladys also enjoyed traveling to Florida and visiting with her son, Tom and his family. Surviving include her son Thomas A. Corso and his wife Cynthia of Ormond Beach, FL; her daughter, Cindy Wypasek and her husband Mark of Weirton; four grandchildren, Jacob, Zakery, Isabella and Francesco; two sisters, Marjorie Lloyd, and Kathryn Kreider. Friends will be received 1-3 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday. Pastor Chuck Jerman will preside. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com
