Gwendolyn Christine Galentine, 75, of Weirton, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Villa Vista Royale Nursing Home, Steubenville, OH. She was born October 4, 1942 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Melvin John and Eldora Mae Hewitt Bonar. She was also preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Wayne Galentine in 1994, brothers John Melvin Bonar and Ralph “Doots” Bonar and sisters Shirley Shook and Maryann Winters.
Chris a sales clerk, having worked at Shaffer’s Pharmacy and Bard’s Dairyland and, for 18 years, in the Photo Department for Walmart. She was Christian by faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Burgettstown, PA and enjoyed bowling with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Joseph E. Galentine of Weirton; sister Bonnie (Nelson) Whipkey of Moundsville; grandchildren Alyson Marie Najimian and Eric Wayne Galentine and her former daughter-in-law Susan Marie Galentine.
A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. The Reverend Paul Stead will officiate.
