Harry D. Kirk

Harry D. Kirk, 86, 0f Weirton, WV, joined his wife, Helen G. Kirk, in paradise on October 30, 2020. Harry was born in Weirton, WV on August 18, 1934, to Harry C. and Audrey E. Kirk. His love of automobiles shaped his career, and after graduating in 1952 from Weir High School, he graduated from General Motors Institute in 1954. He married Helen in December 1955, and they spent 64 wonderful years together. After graduation, he spent 17 years as a Field Service Engineer for Chevrolet Motor Division. In 1972, he purchased a dealership in Roscommon, MI, and renamed it Kirk Chevrolet Oldsmobile, Inc. Before retirement, he was a Corvette mechanic and a service manager at several Detroit dealerships. After retirement, he gifted each of his sons in law one of his 1978 anniversary edition Corvettes, and he and Helen returned to Weirton to spend time with their extended family. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra (Joseph) Holmes and Kristine (Stanley) Tracy, his brother, Edwin (Margaret), and his brother in law, Frank (Claire) Dobias. Their five grandchildren include Dr. Michelle (Max) Wiener of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Audrey (Aaron) Holsclaw of Cannonsburg, PA, James Tracy of Covington, KY, Noelle (Shaun) Rohweder of Spring Hill, TN, and Joseph (Sarah) Holmes of Cleveland, OH. His legacy also includes nine great-grandchildren, Julius, Marion, Delilah, Margot, Landon, Xavier, Owen, Isaac, and Isabell. Due to the pandemic visitation and funeral services on Wednesday at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home be private. Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
