Hasan "Hus" "Turk" Drizake

Hasan “Hus” “Turk” Drizake of Weirton, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, after battling four different types of cancer. He was 85. Hasan was born in Weirton, WV, on September 12, 1936, to Husein and Sue Bara Drizake. He graduated from Weir High School in 1956. Hus went to work in Weirton Steel and from 1960 to 1962 served his country in the United States Army. On May 31, 1988, Hus retired after a 30-year career at Weirton Steel, where he worked 20 years on 8 Tandem and ten years in the carpentry shop. All who knew Hus knew of his love for cars, especially antique cars. This love affair started at the age of twelve and carried on throughout his life. He collected cars, built cars, and sold cars, and his vehicles were featured in car magazines. He was very fortunate to share this love for cars with his honey, Sue, whom he met when he was 36. For the last 48 years, Sue and Hus traveled the United States attending car shows and swap meets. Their favorite shows were Hershey with Rick and Judy, Daytona, Charlotte, Stowe, Vermont, and Pomona, CA. A workaholic, Hus would spend most of his life working on cars. However, he enjoyed going to the car auctions and hanging out with his friend Edmund DiBacco and the guys at Steel Town Auto on Main Street in Weirton. Hus never met a stranger. He was outgoing but private, hardworking but loved to have fun. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, Antique Auto Club of America, Weirton Lodge 171 AF & AM, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry Valley of Wheeling. He also enjoyed time with his good friend, Bill Reedy in the Racoon Club of Detroit Michigan In addition to his parents, Hus was preceded in death by his brother Mike Drizake. He will be remembered with love and admiration by his honey of 48 years, Sara “Sue” Rhoades of Weirton, several nieces and nephews, and the many friends he made along his way. Visitation will be Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM A time of sharing memories will take place at 6 PM Hus will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Masks will be mandatory.
