Helen Marie (Olenick) Carinci, 85, of Weirton, WV, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on December 28, 1934, in Weirton, the daughter of the late George and Helen (Nicksic) Olenick. Helen worked as a bookkeeper and cashier at DeCaria’s Market. Prior to that she worked as a billing clerk at Weirton Steel Corporation; a secretary to the pathologist at Weirton General Hospital. Her first job was at Isaly’s. She was a graduate of Weir High School and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. In addition to her parents Helen was preceded death by Mother and father in law, August and Mary Carinci; sister-in-law Edie Campbell, brothers-in-law George Phillips, Dario Carinci, Tito Carinci, and special fur-baby Fuzzy. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Anthony Carinci, daughters Tina Carinci Morris, Lisa Carinci Glaze, and Carla Carinci Bell; sons-in-law Jay Morris and Mike Bell; grandchildren Dr. Mallory Morris, Madison Morris, Griffin Glaze, and Sienna Glaze; sister Marlene Phillips, brother-in-law Geno Carinci, several nieces and nephews, and loving friends. Helen loved to cook and bake and take care of her family. She also enjoyed and spent several years making jewelry. She was so proud of her grandchildren whom she loved very dearly. She also enjoyed taking bus trips with her sister Marlene. Visitation is 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home in Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. Rev. Father Justin Golna will preside. Entombment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Weirton. Helen’s family would like to thank Dr. Jasbir S. Makar, MD, and staff for taking such good care of her over the years. A special thank you to the angels from Weirton Hospital Home Health and Valley Hospice for their wonderful care over the past few months. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the amazing autism school Bridgeway Academy attended by Griffin.
