Helen Marie Jonczak, 94, of Weirton passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018. A daughter of the late George and Sophie Bak Sobota, Helen was born on January 6, 1924 in Wheeling, WV. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bones” Jonczak on October 29, 1966; her three brothers, Michael, John, and Joseph Sobota, and her sister, Stella Ondusky. Helen worked on the shell line at the Steubenville plant of Weirton Steel during World War II. After the death of her husband, she returned to work to support her family. She eventually retired from National Steel. After retirement she enjoyed polka dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her sweet, kind, and gentle ways. She loved her beautiful family, touched everyone’s heart and loved sharing her Polish traditions. Helen was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. She will be remembered with love by her son, Bill (Georgia) Jonczak; her twin daughters, Sharon (Keith) Mills and Karen (Bob) Ragon all of Weirton, WV; her grandchildren, Liza Jonczak, Candice (Matt) Pitek, Christopher Ragon, Julia Ragon, Katie (Kyle) Cooper, and Shane Harley Mills; her three great grandchildren, Brody and Cali Cooper and Anna Marie Pitek; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6 PM until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.   3. Helen was a sweet, soft spoken lady with a kind heart. Helen & my mother were great friends, who went to many polka dances & traveled together. Helen would always stop by my mother’s house & visit with me when I was in Weirton. I will always remember Helen as a caring lady, who loved her family. Condolences to the family. ♥️
