Henry "Hank" Adamczyk, 88, of Weirton died Sunday January 8, 2017, in the Weirton Medical Center. Born on July 21, 1928, in Hollidays Cove, WV, Hank was a son of the late Stanley and Bessie Kolkowski Adamczyk. He was also preceded in death by his son, Brad; brother, Edmond; and his sisters, Irene Hughes, Marcella Hurand, and Camilla DiBacco. A Weir High School graduate of the Class of 1946 and a veteran of the Korean War, Hank retired as a bundler from the Weirton Steel Tin Mill after 43 years of service. He was very active in the Termite Leagues when his sons played ball. He was a manager of their teams as well as volunteering his time as a scorekeeper. He also enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Hank was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, AARP, and a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus 3734. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Valeria (Mark) Adamczyk; 3 sons, Brian of Weirton, Bruce and Danielle of Grafton, WV and Brent of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter in law, Janet Adamczyk of Weirton, WV; a sister, Eleanor Olenick of Weirton; grandchildren, Jacob, Tara, Zak, Lauren, Kaitlyn, and Jocelyn Adamczyk; a great grandson, Parker James. In accordance with his family's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton. His family would like to thank the nurses and nurses aids on the sixth floor of Weirton Medical Center for their excellent care they provide Hank while he was a patient on their floor.
