Henry Junior Piersol, 85, of New Cumberland, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville. Born March 11, 1931, in Columbiana, OH, Henry was the son of the late Adnarm Judson Piersol and Alberta Mae (Courtney) Piersol Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty V. (Ritchea) Piersol, an infant daughter and sisters Margaret Turner, Mary and Darlene Piersol. Henry worked as the manager at Elby's when it opened in Weirton in 1964. He then opened his own restaurant called Dog n' Suds and finally retired from National Lube as a truck driver. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War, where he earned a purple heart. Henry was a member of the New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene. He loved spending time in the outdoors fishing and camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Rick) Provenzano of New Cumberland, Diana (Jerry) Mayerich of Weirton and Julie (Allen) Eddy of Amsterdam, OH; grandchildren Rick (Becky), Joe (Devinn) and Michael (Brenda) Provenzano, Ashley (Adam) Coburn and Wesley (Nicole Jacobs) Mayerich; great-grandchildren Brooke, Chance, Parker, Prestinn, Michael, Gage, Brasinn and Caleb Provenzano and sister Lucy Anderson of Cameron, WV. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene. There will be no visitation. Per Henry's wishes his body will be donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry. Memorial contributions, in memory of Henry, may be made to the New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene, Washington School Rd., New Cumberland, WV 26047, St. Jude Children's Hospital, 355 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010 or to the Local Amvets Post 275, 393 Frostview Dr., Wintersville, OH 43953.
