Iona F. McColloch, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord on August 10, 2021, at the great age of 91, peacefully at home with family. Born on August 14, 1929, she graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1948. Iona met her husband, Terry, while roller skating on Wheeling Island. They wed on April 29, 1950, and enjoyed 61 years together. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends and snow-birding in Myrtle Beach. She was a valued member of Three Score and AARP clubs in Weirton. Iona was a hairdresser by profession and owned her own beauty shop, Style Rite, in Weirton. Following retirement, Iona spent her time volunteering at Weirton Medical Center, gardening, and visiting great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terence A. McColloch, and her parents, Willard and Vesta Starcher. She will be remembered with love by her daughters Terrlyn (Terri) (Mitchell) Wroniak, Cincinnati, OH, and Elaine Joyce McColloch, Weirton, granddaughters Taryn (Robert) Johnson, Virginia Beach, VA, and Elissa (Aaron) McCabe, Wixom, MI; great-grandchildren Maisy, Eli Johnson, and Mia, and Aiden McCabe. Visitation will be held Sunday 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where additional visitation will be 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Reverend William Stout will officiate. Entombment will follow at Parkview Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, WV. Facial coverings are highly encouraged during visitation and services. The family wishes to thank Valley Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church in Iona’s name.
