Isobel Lee Bell of Weirton passed away at the Weirton Medical Center on Sunday, October 17, 2021; she was 92 years old. She was born in Parkersburg, WV, on May 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Earl W. and Clarice K. Nichols Wigner. Isobel was a proud homemaker and part-time minister; she enjoyed being a parishioner at Oakland Presbyterian Church. She was a 1947 graduate of Weir High School, and later that year, on November 2, 1947, she married the love of her life, Mr. Ralph “Butch” Bell, Jr. Isobel’s life was at its fullest while serving the Lord through her church, holding membership and taking care of publicity in the Church Women United since 1964, teaching Sunday school, and providing leadership to the youth group. In addition to her many aspects of church leadership, Isobel was the recipient of the Valiant Women’s Award, an award given by her church to the most outstanding woman of the congregation. She continued her leadership outside of her church while serving as a counselor to the Jefferson 4-H Club. You would often find Isobel in her garden during springtime, planting flowers and vegetables and waiting with great anticipation to see what each year would bring. She and Ralph worked in harmony to develop and maintain a beautiful bounty. In addition to her parents, Isobel was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Wigner. Remembering Isobel at home is her husband of seventy-four years, Ralph, her son Larry Bell, her daughter Pamela (William) Fidler, all of New Cumberland, grandchildren Derek (Amanda) Bell, Jodi Fidler, and Mike (Lindsey) Fidler; her great-grandchildren Logan, Scarlet, and Owen Bell and Josh, Rebekah, Chloe, Jennifer, Kinsey, Abby and Wyatt “Maverick” Fidler. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Pastor Randy Krebbs will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Isobel’s name to the Oakland Presbyterian Church, 253 Laurel Heights, Weirton, WV, 26062.
