Jacklon Curtis, a generous, dedicated hard worker, who always had a smile on his face passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He was 71 years old. The last 16 years were not easy for Jack after he suffered a stroke and was under the care of area nursing homes. Jacklon was born on September 17, 1950, in Wheeling, WV, the sixth of ten children born to Booker T. and Thelma Carr Curtis,Sr. Jacklon was a dedicated employee for Homer Laughlin China for 33 years; often riding his bicycle from Steubenville to Newell, when his car was down for repairs. Jacklon was a fan favorite in the Valley for his talented boxing skills. If you had the opportunity to watch,he was a tough son of a gun in the Tough Man Contests, held in Wheeling. Most of all Jack will be remembered for the love he had for his family. "In addition to his parents, Jacklon was preceded in death by his brother, Booker T. "Butch" Curtis, Jr., and his sister, Shirley Byrd. He will be remembered with love by his brothers,Ronald, Thomas "T.C.",Jeffrey, and Wayman Curtis; and his sisters, Carla Ross, Tracy Curtis Veal, and Monica Curtis; his children and grandchildren.
