James J. Dugan, 84, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born March 14, 1922 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Mulrooney Dugan. With over 40 years of service, James retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a foreman in the Tin Mill. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, WSX 25-Year Club, Knights of Columbus 3734, Weirton Moose Lodge 688, Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 and the Hibernian’s Club. He served in the US Army during World War II. James is survived by his wife Dorothy Swearingen Dugan of Weirton; son Michael Dugan of San Francisco, CA; brother Joseph Dugan of Clearwater, FL and sisters Dora Jean Maloney of Las Vegas, NV and Grace Zapor of Weirton. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2PM Saturday in the chapel at St. Paul Cemetery. Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Entombment will follow the Mass with military services being conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and Weirton Honor Guard.
