Janice A. Ollila Pepe of Weirton, WV, a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, after a five-week battle with liver cancer. She was 66. Janice was born in Weirton, WV on November 19, 1955, one of four children born to George W. and Dolores J. Fetty Ollila. Janice graduated from Brooke High School in the Class of 1974. In her sophomore year, she met Joe Pepe. They fell in love and have been in love ever since. They were married on May 21, 1977. In 1980, they were blessed with a son, Bryan. Janice worked for Joseph Lewis, DPM for nearly 29 years. This June, she would have been retired for one year. For over three decades, Janice and her husband Joe impacted thousands of children’s lives by their involvement in the valley’s youth soccer leagues. They were instrumental in forming the Weirton Rotary Youth Soccer League U6 program. They traveled with the W.V.S.A. Cup Committee throughout the State of West Virginia and surrounding states, in addition to attending soccer workshops and conventions all over the United States. Janice enjoyed recording the stats for Weir High and Brooke Boys Soccer, while her husband Joe coached. Janice was very active in the Brooke High School Class of 1974 Reunion Committee. She also enjoyed meeting up for dinner once a month with her girlfriends, also known as "The Divas". For relaxation, she looked forward to the annual family vacation to Myrtle Beach, where they would spend all day at the beach taking in the calming waves of the ocean. Janice cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren. Janice nourished her faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she once served as the church treasurer. Most of all Janice will be remembered as a beautiful person who shared a lifetime of love with her husband, son, and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Olivia Marie Pasquale; her brother, Patrick Ollila; her sister Carol Lynn Ramsey; father-in-law Patsy Pepe, Sr; mother-in-law Palma Pepe; and brothers-in-law, Patsy Pepe, Jr; John Shorts; and Walt Ramsey, Sr. She will be remembered with love and admiration by her husband, Joseph Victor Pepe; her son Bryan Joseph Pasquale (Anita); her grandchildren, Noah James and Haley Marie Pasquale; her brother, George “Bruce” Ollila (Joan); Sisters in law, Dianne Pepe and Katherine Shorts; nieces and nephews, Dan, Chris, Judy, DJ and Kayla Leigh Shorts, Dana and Joe Gribben, Walt and Lyndsay Ramsey, Todd and Buffie Pepe, Michelle and Mark Mitchell, Allison and Todd Buczynski, Amy and Scott Roach, and Chad and Tammy Ollila; countless great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 7th from 1 PM until 8 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday June 8th. She was a sweet and friendly person. I am so sorry to learn of her illness and death. My heart breaks for her family. Thinking of them as they go through this sad and difficult time of loss.
