Joan C. Silveri

Joan C. Silveri, 81, of Weirton, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 in the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville, OH. Born May 9, 1932 in Hoosick Falls, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Smith Welch. She was also preceded in death by brother, Charles and sisters Alice and Marie. Mrs. Silveri was the former owner of Jo-Sans Pet Grooming Shop and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Joan was an avid bowler who loved reading. She truly enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her husband Achille A. "Kenny" Silveri of Weirton, whom she married January 29, 1955; son Thomas P. (Jeannie) Silveri of Weirton; daughters Maria (Dennis) Hreso of Valparaiso, IN and Sandra (David) Webb of Wintersville, OH; sister Dorothy (John) Proietti of Leominster, MA; granddaughter Hannah Webb and grandson Zachary Webb. Visitation will be held Sunday 3-6PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10AM Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Church, 140 Walnut St. Weirton, WV 26062 or to the donor's choice.
